About the Event
For thousands and thousands of years, our ancestors
gathered around campfires -- sharing stories, songs, and
working out the challenges they were facing. It's
in our DNA to gather, share, and listen in a focused way.
Our events have two parts.
First, we pass the talking stick. The talking stick is a
Native American tradition, used by many tribes. Each
person is invited to speak authentically about who they
are, and a bit about their current life experience --
without interuption or comments from other members of the
group. They may also choose to just pass the stick on and
participate in silence.
In the second part of the evening, people are invited to
share music, poetry, or any other creations they would
like to contribute to the circle.
If you've never attended this kind of event, it can be an
immensely powerful experience.
Events are hosted by Michael
Joseph Ferguson. He has facilitated countless talking
stick/music circles around the country.
